A "Do It Yourself" Guide to Inspecting a Used Vehicle Before you Buy.
  • his is a 1992 toyota celica GT4 (aka, Alltrac). not many know or have heard of these cars, so for those who don't know much about it here is a litle history......in order for toyotas WRC (world rally car) to participate in rallys, the rules made it mandetory for toyota to produce 5000 clones and make them available to the public, and that's when the GT4 was born. from 1990 to 1993 only 2500 were inported to the US,powered buy a 2.0, twin cam, 16 valve, turbo charged and intercooled, 200 HP powerplant....in 1990, 1500 Alltracs were imported, in 1991, 649 Alltracs were imported, in 1992, toyota revised the drivetrain on these little beasts and in that year 270 Alltracs where imported to the U.S. and 1993 only 81 Alltracs where sold in the U.S. market.
  • now on to this auction....... i baught this 92 Alltrac with the intentions of fixing it and keeping , as you can see in the pictures, it has front end damage, it was hit at about 48 MPH, on the front driver side corner, the car starts and drives straight, i do start it every weekend, just to make sure everything satays sound mechanically. it has 112000 miles on it, very clean body/chassis, no rust at all, accept for the litle rust where it is hit. the interior is exepsionally clean, even the driver seat, which usualy wears out in 99% of these cars, looks like new, it still has the original AM/FM CD and casset player in it, and is fully functional, the battery has been relocated to the trunk by the previous owner, and a new CT26 turbo was also instaled by the prvious owner, , a K&N air filter and a magna flow exhaust.it also feels like there is an after market clutch in it, the windows ar tinted, dark black, maybe 15%. overall its a clean car, accept for the damage it took on the front and it does have a clean title. in the pictures, the carpet for the trunk is gone, but i do have it. i was qwoted $400 in a couple shops to get the front pulled out, and $600 buy a toyota specialist. all the other parts are bolt on that you can do, or have a body shop do it, the hood can be saved, if a good autobody technician worked on it. like i said, the car drives straight the suspension is straight, the damage is way ahead of the suspension line, so nothing else needs to be worked on, othere that the damage you see in the pictures. i gues i just lost interest and decided to sell it, so here is ur chance to own 1 of 270 maby sold 92 Alltracs, maybe less than 200 left now, for way bellow what they usually sell for.
